862 Successful Surgical Management of Chylothorax Secondary to Gorham-Stout Disease

Abstract Introduction Gorham-Scout Disease (GSD) is a rare skeletal disorder of unknown aetiology characterised by progressive osteolysis and excessive lymphovascular proliferation. Chylothorax severe life-threatening complication GSD that confers poor prognosis. Literature review reveals only one previous case successful surgical management for chylothorax secondary to GSD. Case presentation A teenage asylum seeker presented with large left pleural effusion on background chronic flank collection malformation. Cytological analysis the fluid drained from chest drain insertion confirmed chylothorax. posterior rib excision biopsy helped confirm diagnosis She had VATS ligation thoracic duct talc pleurodesis, however, due recollection ongoing symptomatic discomfort, she subsequently underwent thoracotomy, decortication lung pleurectomy. These interventions stabilise related radiotherapy pain control via administration bisphosphonates.
